While majoring in Finance & Real Estate at the University of Texas at Austin, I began my first business, a commercial cleaning company. It taught me valuable lessons, the one with the most profound long-term effects was the importance of understanding how income taxes played a critical role in my financial health. I worked as an employee and got a W2, and quickly realized the benefits of owning my own business when I filed my first tax return at the age of 18. A mighty oak formed from that simple seed, and he has been helping others utilize the tax code to their advantage. After selling my first business and fulfilling my wanderlust by traveling, surfing, and exploring the world, I returned home to Austin, Texas. I went to work for a small engineering firm specializing in land development, writing the technical reports that Municipal Utility Districts needed to issue the Municipal Bonds, which most homeowners pay throughout Texas. After realizing he was making wealthy developers wealthier and helping to tax the average homeowner, he formed and expanded Capital Tax.
